Whew! It’s a lot. And it probably makes you want to close your laptop and hide under your covers.
It’s a juggling act, for sure. But writing copy that balances the analytical with the creative brings me so much joy. (And being able to take something off your plate is a pretty amazing feeling, too.)
Start with strategy + research.
Insert your distinctive voice. (Be engaging! Be likeable!)
Meet and manage the reader’s expectations.
Optimize it for search engines.
Make it professional and polished (but not-at-all stuffy)
Many of my clients tell me, “I’m a good writer, but I’m having trouble with this for some reason.”
And I totally get it.
It’s possible with copy that tells your story in a compelling way.
Waking up to inquiries from dream clients, all ready to sign a contract and get the show on the road.
Investment: $3250
You deserve a website that you’re proud of. A website that’s always hard at work for you, day and night, letting the world know what you have to offer. A website that gets your ideal client’s heart a-racin’ because they KNOW that you have exactly what it takes to make their vision a reality.
You open your email, see your website copy, and…
a) Squeal with delight
b) Sigh with relief
c) Do a happy dance in your office
d) All of the above
Every word has to be exactly right, so I’ll revise until it gets there.
You get to kick back and relax. Meanwhile, I’ll work diligently—writing, deleting, repeating—to make sure that every last detail is perfect for you.
I get completely wrapped up in producing the highest quality copy that’s backed by research and psychology, tells a relatable story, and converts. (Whew! )
You fill me in on your services, your audience, and your goals on a kickoff call. Then, I’ll dig into research and voice-of-customer.
We aren’t going to guess what your customer needs to hear—I’ll scour the internet, send out emails, and conduct interviews until I know for sure.
As soon as I started looking for freelance writers, I immediately reached out to Kelly. We were already connected on Twitter and I had seen her posting from time to time about her work as a freelance writer. From these posts, I could tell Kelly had a strong work ethic and was the kind of writer I was looking for. I was right! Every month, Kelly delivers well-written and thoroughly researched articles for our website. She never misses a deadline, is open to feedback, and is genuinely a pleasure to work with.
Mara Calvello, Content Marketing Manager, G2
We've had the opportunity to work with Kelly on a number of projects, looping her in with both our retainer and project clients. She consistently delivers excellent, well-researched, and thought-provoking content. Kelly has quickly become one of our go-to content writers and I would recommend her to anyone considering working with a freelance writer.
As a journalist, I know the importance and power of our words.
I was THRILLED with Kelly's ability to synthesize my mission and help me get my story out in a conversational manner that will land with my ideal clients. Kelly was also so much FUN to work with. She was detail-oriented, punctual, and passionate about her work. I highly recommend her for your next copywriting project.
From web to blog to ad copy, Kelly's knack for harnessing our brand voice has changed the game and provided such a consistent and solid foundation to lean on. She is empathetic and knowledgeable, and isn't afraid to push back and share feedback that make your work better and your messaging truly shine.
We worked with Kelly on behalf of our education technology client, and we were impressed with both her writing skills and clear passion for education that came through in her work. She delivered her article both on time and seamlessly aligned with our client's brand standards. Kelly was an absolute joy to work with, and we look forward to hiring her for future opportunities!
Copy! Words dictate design. :) But—there’s always a but!—if you purchased a template, we can absolutely fill it with beautiful, 100%-custom copy, too.
If your business is fresh-off-the-presses new, it’s probably not time to invest in website copy yet. Sooo many things change in that first year or two in business. Take some time to figure out your offer and get to know your ideal client—and then we’ll chat.
My standard policy is 50% down and 50% at delivery. That said, I’m happy to work with you on a payment plan. Just include a note for me in your application or on our discovery call, and I’ll include it in the proposal.
Yep! If you are a service-based business owner, I’d love to help you craft your copy. It’s so much fun to get to write for people in different industries.
I love that you’re already thinking about this! When I email you your onboarding materials, you’ll receive a client questionnaire. It takes awhile to fill out—set aside 1-3 hours over the course of a week—but it’s the key to helping me nail down your brand voice and deeply understand your business. Also, if you have any existing marketing materials you want me to look at, you can upload them in our shared Google Drive. I’ll also need you to pop on a kickoff call with me, where we’ll talk strategy and dive even deeper into some of the questions from your client questionnaire.
Then, I’ll take it from there, doing additional research and weaving everything together into pages of cohesive, strategy-driven copy.
Excellent question! Here’s the thing: since I also write content for a steady roster of returning clients, I want to make sure that I have plenty of time to devote to you. That means, I’m currently only taking two website clients a month. If you want to be sure to secure a spot, reach out at least a month ahead of time.
